Evelyn Sterling, a Boston native with a lifelong passion for culinary arts, envisioned a restaurant that would celebrate the bounty of New England while embracing innovative cooking techniques and global flavors. Inspired by her grandmother's traditional recipes and her extensive travels, Evelyn set out to create a dining experience that was both familiar and exceptional.
Evelyn, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, returned to Boston determined to bring her culinary dreams to life. She found the perfect location on Hanover Street, a charming space with exposed brick walls and a warm, inviting atmosphere. With the support of her family and a dedicated team, she transformed the space into The Gilded Spoon, a name that reflects the restaurant's commitment to elegance, quality, and exceptional service.
From its early days, The Gilded Spoon has been committed to sourcing the freshest, locally-sourced ingredients. Evelyn Sterling is the Executive Chef and Founder of The Gilded Spoon. A graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, Evelyn brings over 30 years of culinary experience to the restaurant. Her passion for sourcing the highest quality ingredients and her commitment to culinary excellence are evident in every dish.
Evelyn's culinary journey began in her grandmother's kitchen, where she learned the art of traditional New England cooking. She honed her skills at some of the finest restaurants in Europe before returning to Boston to open The Gilded Spoon. Evelyn's innovative approach to classic dishes has earned her numerous awards and accolades, making her one of Boston's most respected chefs.
Marcus Bell - Sous Chef

Marcus Bell is the Sous Chef at The Gilded Spoon. He works closely with Evelyn Sterling to create the restaurant's innovative and delicious menu. Marcus is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and has worked in some of the most prestigious kitchens in the country.
Marcus's creativity and attention to detail are invaluable to The Gilded Spoon. He is passionate about using fresh, local ingredients and is constantly experimenting with new flavors and techniques.
